principal bundle

See Lectures on Geometrical Anatomy of Theoretical Physics by Frederic Schuller in 2015

Very roughly speaking, a principal fibre bundle is a bundle whose typical fibre is a Lie group. Principal fibre bundles are so immensely important because they allow us to understand any fibre bundle with fibre \[F\] on which a Lie group \[G\] acts. These are then called associated bundle, and will be discussed later on.
